Artist Residency at École Meridian Heights
One-month-plus-long project as artist in residence at a K-9 school in Stony Plain, Alberta. I introduced printmaking and collaborative art to the entire school community of almost 600 students through individual class instruction, collaborative art-making, open studio sessions, drop-in lunchtime art club, and exhibition of collages I made of student proofs.
Funding was provided by Alberta Foundation for the Arts: the Artist and Education funding supports Alberta schools by subsidizing fees of professional Alberta artists of any artistic discipline that provide interactive arts residency projects for grades K-12. I used artist fees as compensation and to purchase the many supplies I needed to carry out the project. I also provided the required matching support through in-kind time and materials.
