And Hide the Hermit Thrush 2010
This body of large and small print work acknowledges a rich historical framework of botanical illustration and documentation within printmaking. The work is about growth and decay, and manipulates its strange scientific source material into something else. The original imagery was from scanning electron micrographs I took during my undergraduate thesis in 2000. This work includes an artist's book, And Hide the Hermit Thrush, inspired by text from Canadian poet Don McKay.
